Fire Emblem Series 5: Monshou o Tsuga mono - Crest of Succession
These are the trading cards from the sixth released series, 紋章を継ぐもの [Monshou o Tsuga mono]. The title is broken down into 3 kanji, and 4 hiragana characters. The kanji 紋 [Mon] can be read as line, streak, or stripe, and the kanji 章 [shou] can be read as composition, character, or section. When placed together, 紋章 [monshou] reads as crest or coat of arms. The hiragana を [o (or wo)], can be translated loosely of (non-possesive), though it has many uses. The kanji 継 [tsugu, tsugi, or mama] can be read as continue, maintain, or carry on. When the hiragana character ぐ [gu] is added to 継 , you get tsugu (yes, it doesn't change the pronunciation) which means to succeed (someone), or succession. The final bit of hiragana threw me for a bit, for I couldn't figure out how to add in mo (for I am used to 'no' being by itself). It turns out that も [mo] + の [no] can be translated together as mono which is roughly thing or something. So put together, the title can be the crest of succession, coat of arms/crest that is used for succession (I'm assuming that the 'something' is referring to the crest or coat of arms that indicates what is being succeeded in the first 2), or something from which a crest is inherited. These cards are all from the first and third game, Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi and Monshō no Nazo (and by extension, the remake 11th game, Shadow Dragon and Sword of Light). All of the cards are shown on this page, along with scans of the box and inserts for this series. This may make the page take a while to load.
There are a total of 185 Cards: ?
Regular Cards, ? Uncommon Cards, ? Rare Cards, ? Box Card
There are 35 possible cards that you can get from the starter deck, 32 of
which are only obtained that way. The exceptions are cards 1, 2 and 11 [30 cards
per deck, 27 are pre-constructed]
To make it easier, I have put the cards found in the starter deck in Purple
text.
Like the previous series, the rarity is based on the number of stars shown on
the card (** = rare, *=uncommon, no stars = common).
This is the first series to use Item cards.
